4 Simple Ways to Earn PDH Credits

Thinking about how you are going to earn PDH credits throughout the year can be stressfuland we get that. Luckily, there are plenty of options to earn the certificates you need in the best way possible for you. Whether you prefer doing 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there during the day or prefer sitting through an interactive webinar for an hour, we have the solution for youThere may even be a possibility of bringing back in-person PDH seminars at your local H&H office post-pandemic (which I hear comes with a pretty tasty lunch). Either way, we want to make earning PDH credits as easy as possible for you!  

Here are 4 simple ways to earn PDH credits this year:  

1. Manufacturer Webinars: Many of our manufacturing partners, like Greenheck, Daikin, and Price, host webinars for ongoing training and PDH credits. These includes topics on different products, improving your HVAC system, and general HVAC knowledge.

      • Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1:00PM-2:00PM EDT
        Greenheck HVAC University – Laboratory Fume Exhaust: This course is aimed at familiarizing participants with the basics of laboratory ventilation and emphasizing the importance of codes and standards for laboratory design. AMCA’s Induced Flow Ratings Seal will be explained along with a discussion on airflow measurement and controls. (Contact your local Greenheck rep to register)

        Price Industries - Optimizing Terminal Unit Hot Water ReheatLearn the difference between airside/waterside capacity equations and manufacturer’s performance calculations, and how this difference leads to challenges during the submittal process for everyone.

2. Online Trainings: Online trainings are becoming more popular, especially since the beginning of the pandemic. These are great for engineers with a busy schedule who want to earn PDH credits on their own time. Here are a few places you can find these:  
      • Greenheck Earn professional development hours (PDH) credits for completing Fan Fundamentals 1.1, 1.2, Accessories, Motors, and Bearings, once you create a Greenheck online account. 
      • Price IndustriesPrice has a ton of archived webinars that you can watch on your own time. You just watch the video, click on the button that says “Request PDH Credit”, and complete the request form and the quiz.  
      • Online Courses on the Web: If you tend to be picky on what courses you want to take, there’s still a course for you out there! In fact, there’s thousands. You can brush up on anything on your mind, like Heating and Cooling System Upgrades” or HVAC Design for Healthcare Facilities. While these aren’t free, they usually offer multiple PDH credits per course.

3. PDH Seminars: Pre-Covid, Hoffman & Hoffman, Inc. often hosted PDH seminars throughout the year in different locations on the east coast. These are a great way to earn PDH credits, while also getting to know your local sales rep. A good lunch is also usually on the agenda! These have been put on pause during the pandemic, but we are hoping to begin hosting these again in the near future. 4. NSPE CoursesEach year, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) offers 15 free new courses for professional engineers seeking ongoing learning and PDH credits. These are on-demand webinars, so you can complete them as your schedule allows. All you need to do to receive your certificate is complete the course and pass the online quiz with at least a 70%. For more information on the NSPE courses, you can visit their website and view the FAQs.   

There are plenty of ways and choices, no matter what your schedule may look like this year. Don’t scramble at the end of the year to earn all your necessary PDH credits, keep earning and learning with these 4 simple ways to get the certificates you need
