UNC Pembroke Uses NBPI Technology to IMpact Indoor Air Quality

February 5, 2021

Universities throughout the country have been resorting to virtual learning and decreased numbers of students in residence.  Just like the rest of us, they've spent a good deal of time over the last year trying to figure out how to resume life as we knew it prior to COVID-19.

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke decided to try something to improve indoor air quality in the hopes of inactivating pathogens to potentially decrease the transmission of COVID-19.  In alignment with the university's attitude of supporting wellness, the campus decided to install needlepoint biopolar ionization (NPBI) technology products from Global Plasma Solutions through their existing HVAC systems.

Since the patented NPBI technology was installed, the university claims that they have a reduced particle count in these buildings.  More than 75% of campus buildings now have the technology installed so that students, teachers, and other staff can have a safer environment.
